Webinar Series: March 28, 2023 - UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

The University of California President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program was founded in 1984 to support and promote women and minority scholars from underrepresented groups who wish to pursue academic careers at the University of California (UC).  The current program offers postdoctoral research fellowships, professional development and faculty mentoring to outstanding scholars in all fields whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity at the UC.

The program has operated under pre-and post-affirmative action environments and has adapted to include approaches that promote hiring of fellows into ladder-rank faculty positions at the UC. It has grown to be one of the largest and longest standing programs of its kind in the US and serves as a model program for supporting diversification of faculty as well as a network of similar programs at institutions across the US.

Webinar attendees will learn about the administration, implementation and practices of the program that support its success.
